Athens to Rome on Viking Sky

The following photos are from our last cruise on the Viking Sky from Athens and back to Athens and then on to Rome. As you can see, it was a wonderful voyage and a beautiful ship. Enjoy!

Athens – November 26, 2022 … We spent an entire day in Athens after joining the ship, and the ship tour was wonderful.

Dion, Greece (Mt. Olympus) – November 28, 2022… Site of the early Olympic games, Dion was more than an interesting exploration, and we had a nice Greek lunch.

Ephesus, Turkey – November 30, 2022… The ancient city was a unique look into the life of the local thousands of years in the past.

Rhodes, Greece – December 1, 2022… From it ancient roots to the knights of the middle ages to local restaurants and shops.

Santorini and Volcano Climb – December 3. 2022… Something different – A climb to the top of the volcano in the middle of the island, and a walk around a local village.

Aptera and Chania – December 3, 2022… Visiting the site of the battle between ancient demi-gods and relaxing in the sea-side town of Chania was a day well spent.

Mycenean Fortress, Greece – December 6, 2022… The Bronze Age tomb and fortress was nothing short of amazing.

Kusadasi, Turkey – December 7, 2022… We toured an alternative to Ephesus, since it was our second time in Kusadasi.

Crete – December 8, 2022… A monastery and a local town were an exploration into the local culture.

Tinari, Sicily – December 11, 2022… From an ancient hilltop Roman city to the church of the Black Madonna, both wonderful tours.

Herculaneum, Italy – December 12, 2022… The sister city to Pompei was a unique view into the lives of ancient Romans.

Aboard the Viking Sky – December 12, 2022… The last day aboard ship the holiday season was in full swing with decorations, and lots of goodies.
