I’m Back!!!

Just got back from a West Coast cruise from Vancouver to Puerto Vallarta aboard the Westerdam, and I will be posting a few photos over the next few days.

To get you started, though, I have a wonderful series of cautionary photos that really bring home the concept of, “Don’t miss the boat.” For some reason unknown to me, the young lady in the photos missed the 4:30 sailing of the Westerdam and chased down the ship in the port’s pilot boat. In the series you can see the harbor pilot getting off the ship and then the passenger, wearing a life preserver, climbing a rope ladder into an open sea door.

I must admit that she was the most exciting event of the day, and a clear object lesson of what not to do while ashore. When a Dutch captain announces a departure of 4:30, it will not be 4:29 or 4:31. The ship will be on schedule… as it should be.

I hope you enjoy the photos and remember to get back to your ship a bit early next time.
